Introducing Katy Flatt

Content Operations for Editorial & Creative Teams

I build the workflows, documentation, and systems that move creative work from idea to published.

Hi, I’m Katy. Katy Flatt. I’m a content operations consultant. I help editorial and creative teams stop fighting their workflows and start actually using them.

If your content team is stuck — briefs are unclear, handoffs are messy, feedback lives in six places, and nobody knows where to find anything — I can fix that. I look at how work actually moves through your team, figure out where it breaks down, and build the systems to make the whole thing run. I’ve spent the last decade doing this for agencies, startups, and online education brands. I’ve managed editorial workflows for 80+ clients, built knowledge bases from scratch, and turned groups of remote freelancers into organized, in-sync teams. I also come with a brain trust of professional creatives — strategists, writers, designers, editors — if your team needs the people, too.

How I work

No One Size Fits All.

Every team is different, so I don’t show up with a blueprint and force it. I look at how your team actually works — the tools, the people, the culture, the client relationships — and I design around what’s real.

  1. 01

    Advise

I assess your content operations and deliver a prioritized roadmap of what to fix.

  2. 02

    Plan

I turn the roadmap into a written action plan your team can actually act on.

  3. 03

    Build

I do the work — tool setup, process design, SOPs, documentation, scoped to your needs.

What I Do

What I Actually Do

I handle the full operational infrastructure for content teams — not just the PM board, but everything that makes creative work actually move.

Workflow Architecture

Designing how work flows from strategy to publish — including steps people forget about, like legal review, SME interviews, partner approvals, and asset gathering.

System Design & Setup

Configuring your PM tools (Asana, Notion, ClickUp, Monday) so they’re organized, intuitive, and built for how your team actually works.

Documentation & Knowledge Bases

Centralizing SOPs, brand guidelines, voice and tone directives, stakeholder feedback, design assets, and templates — all in one findable place.

Digital Organization

Structuring Google Drive, Notion, Asana, Slack — whatever you use — so people can find what they need without asking for a link.

Traffic Management & Accountability

Keeping creative work moving through the pipeline, surfacing blockers early, adjusting deadlines before they’re missed, and liaising with stakeholders outside the immediate team.

What People Say

The work speaks for itself. Here's what happens when a team finally has the systems they need.

She builds the systems that make everything else possible. She’s not flashy about it. She just quietly makes sure things work.

With barely any guidance from me, she built out my entire client workflow in Asana from scratch, and honestly, she did it better than I ever could have.

Katy knows how to make remote creative teams work. She’s the best project manager I’ve ever worked with. Katy is a unique combination of border collie, cheerleader, diplomat, and drill sergeant: she tracks EVERYTHING, keeps team members motivated and engaged, handles client requests with aplomb, and hits every deadline. All while keeping things fun.
